John Lambert

John Lambert is a former Missiologist and Missionary. He is known as a passionate reformer with a heart to mobilize every believer into God’s purposes through a radical encounter with the love of Jesus and the power of the Holy Spirit. He longs to see the Church rise in both purity and power.

Whether through individuals, churches, ministries, or movements; John desires to see the fire of God spread throughout the nations of the Earth. He is a supporter of the persecuted church, missionaries and indigenous leaders.

John and his wife Jacqueline have faithfully served ministries that have a vision and mandate for prayer, evangelism, discipleship and global missions sending.

Today, John serves God in the market place as the Chief Operating Officer of a successful real estate and construction company based in Charlotte, NC and a business consultant for small to medium sized companies and non profits.

History and Experience

John received his calling to the ministry during a season where he was deeply impacted by an encounter with God in revival that changed his life. Out of this encounter, he received the call to global missions. While serving in the U.S. Navy as a Hospital Corpsman, he traveled throughout Asia and the Middle East, sharing the Gospel and making disciples along the way. After five years in the military, he returned to the U.S. and pursued ministry training in Bible and Theology. After graduating school, he worked to mobilize the local church for global missions while raising a family and working in the marketplace.

John and his family were eventually sent by their local church and served as missionaries among the unreached peoples of Northeast Thailand where they served among the poor and fought against injustice. While working with a church planting movements (CPM) approach to ministry, he became a respected strategic missions thinker and practicioner. As a member of SEANET, he was the youngest and only non PhD writer included in the book, Seeking the Unseen: Spiritual Realities in the Buddhist World, as well as a main contributor to Create International’s (YWAM) Cross Cultural Evangelism Tool Kit Series, Practical Insights and Tools for Reaching Buddhist Peoples After a severe auto accident, the Lamberts returned to the U.S.

While on assignment at the U.S. Center for World Mission, John led a collaborative group that included six major ministries. This collaboration supported the formation of The Send, which has mobilized tens of thousands into the mission. Within this unique season of convergence, he went on to lead the rebranding, renaming, and relaunching of the Frontier Mission Fellowship and the U.S. Center for World Mission into its new unified identity, Frontier Ventures.  John was instrumental in helping strengthen senior leadership of the FMF to hold fast to the original vision of the hundred year old mission base by supporting new initiatives and fresh collaborative efforts to position the ministry for another forty years of ministry. He served as a Guest Editor for Mission Frontiers magazine and as an Instructor for Perspectives on the World Christian Movement, teaching on Pioneering Church Planting and Church Multiplication Movements. The ministry eventually decided to sell its campus, known to many as the U.S. Center for World Mission, and transition to new leadership.

While serving as the Executive Pastor of a large multi-site mega church with six campuses, John also oversaw the church’s forty global missionaries as well led the administration of a minister’s network and a network of ministry networks. His role as Executive Pastor included operationalizing a five year strategic plan which included moving the church to a more missional and disciple-making leadership culture. He served as Vice President of four of the ministry’s boards and used the gifts of administration and leadership to transition the church into a critical leadership succession. He led the church’s Freedom ministry which involved thousands of members and over a half a dozen other area churches in a 13-week small group and a two day conference. John was instrumental in the creation of a new online Bible School, a new assimilation process, a revamped minister’s accountability system, the creation of a counseling and recovery coalition, as well as in the support of two yearly leadership conferences. In the end, John discovered impropriety and oversaw the resignation and removal of his Senior Pastor due to “moral failures.” Through this, he became an advocate for whistleblowers and institutional victims.
