Our story is a lot like many in our generation. We came from broken homes. We experimented. We did things we are not proud of. We were messed up. Maybe you were “perfect”, but that isn’t our story. We were searching, but not finding what we were looking for.
God was mentioned around holidays and special times of the year, but our faith was not one that had the power to transform. It wasn’t until we had an encounter with Jesus Christ through his Word and Spirit that our lives began to really be changed. Our transformations were pretty radical for us personally, but not out of line with the stories of how the power of God is still actively changing lives every day.
We are on a journey of knowing him more and experiencing his great love and care. Until we see him face to face, our hearts are fixed to do his will and complete the work we sense He is giving us to do. We desire for our family to be a new generation of righteousness, a continuing living story of how God really is alive and well and on a mission. It is our hope that you come to find your unique place in His story and fulfill your God given destiny. It’s never too late for you to start exploring.
While you are breathing you still have time.
I became fully persuaded of the truth of the Bible and the claims of Jesus Christ while serving in the US Navy. At the age of twenty years old, I left behind a blatant habitual lifestyle of sin and rebellion to give my life to Jesus Christ and fully follow God’s plan for my life. Jacqueline has been a believer since she was fifteen, but has experienced her share of heartache and hard times too.
After being dramatically impacted by the power of God while in the military, I sensed a strong call from God to the ministry. My heart’s cry, like the prophet Isaiah’s was, “Here I am Lord, Send Me!”
I was later sent to a ship in Japan to finish my military enlistment. It was during this time, that I began to actively pursue this ministry call as I traveled throughout South East Asia and the Middle East. During this season, I spent time in Thailand on three different occasions.
At each place I lived and worked in, I was able to connect with and support Church leaders and believers from many different backgrounds. I won other young guys to Christ and gathered them for Bible study, prayer, outreach and worship each week.
It was during this season that God gave me a glimpse into His global plan and a heart to play a part in it. He directed me to certain key people who made a deep impact on my thinking in regards to cross cultural work, the remaining task of missio dei, the reality of the unreached, and access to the Gospel.
After this season and the end of my military enlistment, I returned to the United States and began formal ministry training. During this season I pioneered a ministry to the young military community stationed in our city, pulling together believers from many different churches to reach out many times each week.
My wife and I met while in Bible college and were married not very long afterwards. We knew that God had put us together for a purpose that was greater than we could understand at the time, but we both knew it would have to do with global missions/cross cultural work. Even our wedding was a prophetic sign as we walk down the aisle as husband and wife to the song, “Ask and I’ll Give the Nations to You.”!
We spent the first years of our married life beginning a family, building a foundation, and serving the local church. While working a full time commissioned sales job for the next five years, I still continued to travel out on overseas mission trips. By the age of thirty, I had already traveled to fifteen different nations. By the grace of God, I was always in the top percentage of sales people in my company and my wife never had to get a second job to help support us. This season was a part of our missions life prep!
After being directed by a dream given to my wife and a word from God given to me, our family took an exploratory trip to Thailand along with our two young sons In March of 2008. After our trip we spent time in prayer about what we should do in response to the leadings we had received. Once we decided to move towards long term missions work in Asia, our decision was confirmed by leadership at our home church and many exciting supernatural confirmations.
We sold our belongings including our home and traveled for a year in pre-field training and to bring awareness of our upcoming ministry to churches and individuals. Exactly one year later in March of 2009 we arrived back in Thailand where we lived for three and a half years working in a rich variety of local ministry.
We have been a part of many outreaches to the Thai people including local Thai church ministry, village outreaches, hosting mission teams, house churches, and training seminars for Thai leaders. I have also ministered in nearby SE Asian countries and am a part of the SEANET committee for Thailand which is made up of missions thinkers and practitioners working among certain people groups of Asia.
Jacqueline regularly reached out to Thai women, encourages other missionary wives, and studies Thai language as she educated our two young sons.
We started our life in the Northeast part of Thailand under a veteran missionary family who have lived in Thailand for the last twenty years. We then moved into a new phase of ministry in the second largest city in the country.
While in the North, we connected with a much larger team and work. Those who connected with us have hearts to share Jesus, live with the Thai people, and establish the Kingdom of God among them through simple local fellowships gathered around being obedient to Jesus through the power of the Holy Spirit. We all share a common vision and core values, but each express our unique giftings and abilities as part of the team.
Both my wife and I were born in the fires of a powerful supernatural move of God and we are looking forward to seeing a great awakening/revival in the nations which results in the planting of many life giving ministries, churches, and movements.
We are now on staff at the US Center for World Mission in Pasadena, CA. Our focus is on promoting strategic breakthroughs among the Buddhist world, mobilizing and equipping a new generation, and bringing fresh vision and perspective to a ministry that has been instrumental in leading us to work among unreached peoples.
Our story is still being written and so is yours!
