Seeing the realities of society can be shocking. But shocks have the power to move us. A little shock could get us moving when we are feeling satisfied, but shouldn’t be. It could bring us back to life if we’re dead to the reality of the world we live in. It could burst the bubble of our limited experience and make us come face to face with a truth that seems stranger than fiction.
The Apostle Paul experienced a major shock in his life. (read the whole story here) When the Lord Jesus appeared to the him on the road to Damascus, this is the mandate that He gave him: “Open their eyes that they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, so that they may thus receive forgiveness and release from their sins and a place and portion among those who are consecrated and purified by faith in Me.”
God had to shake Paul to get his attention, but once he got it, He gave him an assignment. Have you ever been moved by something that later led to an assignment?
