What is the “it” I am referring to?
“Apostolic Passion” def: a deliberate, intentional choice to live for the worship of Jesus in the nations.
How do we know when it’s missing from our heart? Mission leader Floyd McClung points out a few ways that are a challenge to all of us who love Jesus:
1. When I don’t spend my quiet time dreaming of the time when Jesus will be worshipped in languages that aren’t yet heard in heaven.
2. When I sing about heaven, but live as if earth is my home.
3. When I dream more about sports, toys, places to go and people to see, than I do about the nations worshipping Jesus.
4. When I make decisions based on the danger involved, not the glory God will get.
If we are disciples of Jesus and believe God’s Word, we can ask Him to change us and adjust our lives to be more in line with His heart, perspective and passions. Change is a constant part of being a believer. We are being changed day to day as we allow God to work in our lives.
The passion that God has given me for the things he has put in my heart did not get there overnight, neither is God done transforming me daily. So, be encouraged. If you love God and care enough to have it, he will ignite, or even rekindle, this passion in your heart. Just ask….I dare you.
