A verse of scripture or two has been rolling around in my mind over the last couple of weeks. The word I kept hearing was, “seek glory, honor, and immortality.”
There are so many things we could go after in this life; so many things we can seek after. Through this scripture, it was like the Holy Spirit was encouraging me to keep being persistent in bringing Him glory and honor by going after the thing for which he called me.
Keep seeking the things that are unseen. They are more real than what you see with the natural eye. By doing so, we will be of the most use and most value here on Earth. Whatever we are called to do, we will be a blessing if we simply do what he is calling us to do. But we have to be persistent. We have to SEEK it. Go after it like a runner going after a prize.
This is impossible without faith because faith sees beyond the facade of the other things going after our focus. It helps us to have an eternal perspective. Paul tells Timothy in I Tim 6:12, “LAY HOLD of eternal life.”
Don’t just wait for things to come to you. Keep going after it, persist in doing the right thing, lay hold of the very thing for which you were laid hold of by Jesus Christ!
If you are a believer in Jesus Christ, find out the purpose for which he “laid hold of you.” Once you know it, seek to honor Him by persistently going after it and working to bring Him honor and glory through it. You will not regret it.
