If you are a Christian, let this reality sink in and become a part of your faith. Pray for your brothers and sisters living in these places. If you are not a Christian, consider the fact that there are people willing to lay down their lives for their faith in Jesus. These Christians are not martyrs who took people’s lives like the Islamo-facists who brutally tortured them. They are martyrs in the true sense of the word who laid down their lives trying to serve the undeserving and love the unlovable.
Be assured of this, no matter what Satan tries to do through ungodly and misguided people, He will never win. As the early church father Tertullian said long ago, “The blood of the martyrs is the seed of the church.” Jesus said, “I will build my church and the gates of hell will not prevail against it.” As believers we overcome by “the blood of the lamb (Jesus), by the Word of our testimony, and because we love not our lives even unto the death.” Death is the enemy that has been defeated on the cross. We love life and do not fear death because we know that “to live is Christ and to die is gain.”
