“Now choose life, so that you and your children may live and that you may love the LORD your God, listen to his voice, and hold fast to him. For the LORD is your life…”
Dear Friends of Hope,
Will you join me in prayer for a family from our ministry. A tragedy has hit the family of our oldest teenager, Doris. Wednesday evening Doris’ sister, brother-in-law and uncle were walking back home from the store. A young man came running to their house, yelling that some guys were trying to kill him.
A minute later, guys came up and started shooting, hitting Doris’ brother-in-law. He is the hospital and it seems that he may never walk again. Please pray for his healing, wisdom for the doctors treating him and for his family as they try to come to grips with this tragedy.
Also pray for Doris and for wisdom for her mother. Doris’ mom has suggested that Doris should quit school to work and help her sister’s family. Doris is in her next to last year of high school – probably the first in her family to reach this point. Doris has been a part of our ministry since the very beginning. She has come to know the Lord and serves in the ministry often. With just 3 more years of school she will fulfill her great desire to one day become a kindergarten teacher.
Please pray for wisdom and discernment for the family.
This is one of those times that it is so very difficult to understand, does the family make the decision for Doris to quit school to work? Does her helping the family in the short run, really help? What is the long term impact? What is the long-term potential for Doris and her family if she finishes her education? How will God redeem this situation?
We must be careful not to judge this family as they wrestle with this decision; instead let’s pray together for the Lord to meet them in this time. Pray they will make good decisions and that they will experience God’s love and presence.
Let’s join together in prayer, taking them to the very throne room of God to ask His blessing on their lives, believing Him for healing, wisdom and provision.
Serving with you,
